أوراق منثورة للكاتبة عبير علان

In 2015, I released my first poetry collection titled “أوراق منثورة” (Awraq Manthoura – Scattered Papers). The book was born from a deeply personal space, an accumulation of thoughts, emotions and quiet observations gathered through years of solitude, growth, painful experiences and joyful transitions.

This book was never just about words on paper, it was about voice. My voice. A woman’s voice weaving reflection with vulnerability.

Earlier this week, I learned that a newly translated book had been published under the exact same Arabic title. While I wholeheartedly support literary translation and the diffusion of philosophical works, I feel it’s important to clarify that “أوراق منثورة (2015)” was not a translation, it was an original Arabic literary publication, authored and self-published by me: عبير علّان (Abeer Allan).

In today’s digital world, titles sometimes travel faster than stories, and at times, the paths of two entirely different works cross unintentionally. This blog isn’t to dispute or criticize, but rather to affirm: “أوراق منثورة – Scattered Papers” has its roots in my lived experience, creative voice and the scattered pieces of me.

To everyone who supported me back in 2015, and to those discovering my work now: thank you for helping me scatter those pages with purpose.

Snippets from the book

أوراق منثورة للكاتبة عبير علان

للقهوة طقوس

وللمرأة طقوس

وكلاهما في المرارة حلو

وأنتِ طقوسي

وخطيئتي المقدّسة

فأدمنتكِ قهوة الصباح

وحلم المساء

وما بين القهوة والحلم

أطرز ثوباً لذاكرة النسيان
